Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 cup Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- FOR SUGAR GLAZE:
- 1 cup confectioner's sugar
- 1 1/4 tablespoons Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preparation
- 1 For Bread:Combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
- 2 In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, syrup, butter and vanilla extract. Whisk until well mixed.
- 3 Add flour mixture to egg mixture. Mix gently.
- 4 Pour into a greased 8 ½’ by 4 ½’ loaf pan. Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes or until done.
- 5 For Sugar Glaze:Combine confectioner's sugar with 1 ¼ tablespoons syrup and 1 tablespoon milk. Drizzle over cooled bread and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
